Software Engineer, Data Engineering

Team: Data Engineering | Location: Hyderabad, India

DoorDash India's Data Engineering team builds data infrastructure for reporting, product analytics, marketing optimisation and financial reporting. You will own critical data systems, design large-scale data models and pipelines, and improve the reliability of ingestion, processing and ETL.

Responsibilities

• Own critical data systems that support multiple products and teams.
• Develop and enforce best practices for data infrastructure and automation.
• Design and implement high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines for the data lake and warehouse.
• Improve reliability and scalability of ingestion, processing, ETL and reporting tools.
• Manage a portfolio of high-quality data products.

Requirements

• 3+ years of data platform or data engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin or Scala.
• 3+ years with Airflow or similar workflow tools.
• 3+ years with Spark, Presto and streaming tech such as Kafka, Flink or Spark Streaming.
• Expert in SQL, database fundamentals and distributed computing.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
• Must be located near DoorDash's Hyderabad engineering hub.
