About the role

Senior Software Engineer on Okta's Onboarding and Lifecycle Management (LCM) Platform team, focused on enhancing and managing services for importing, syncing and provisioning identities and access policies (users, groups, roles, entitlements). Build, design and maintain the platform for scale. The ideal candidate is naturally curious and has experience building software systems to manage and deploy reliable, performant infrastructure and product code at scale on cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Work with the senior engineering team on major development projects, design and implementation
Conduct code reviews, analysis and performance tuning
Work with QA to outline and implement comprehensive test coverage for broad features
Provide support and handle incoming bugs and customer reported issues
Interface with cross-functional teams (Architects, QA, Product, Technical Support, Documentation, UX) to develop connectors to on-prem and cloud apps
Analyze and refine requirements with Product Management
Partner with Product Development, QA and Site Reliability Engineering on scoping development and deployment work
Design and implement core, high-performance, scalable software components
Quick prototyping to validate scale and performance
Troubleshooting and debugging customer issues from logs (Splunk, Syslogs, etc.)

Requirements

5+ years of software development experience building highly reliable, mission critical software
Experience with object-oriented languages, e.g. Java
Experience with data stores, e.g. relational databases
Experience with one or more directory services: Active Directory, LDAP
Experience with RESTful APIs
Ability to debug; experience working with a system of scale

Nice to have

Server-side technologies including caching, asynchronous processing and multi-threading
Experience in TDD
Knowledge of Identity and Access Management protocols: OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM
Microsoft Azure management APIs, ADFS, Office 365 or Microsoft's Directory Synchronization Tool, Active Directory

Education

B.S. in Computer Science or a related field. Hybrid working model.
