Senior Software Engineer - Backend Infrastructure

About the role

Networking Infrastructure is a core part of the Databricks platform that powers all data and AI products, and key enterprise security features that let customers build connectivity solutions to cloud resources and prevent data exfiltration. The team is being set up from scratch in Bengaluru, India.

Databricks is seeking experienced Senior Software Engineers with a networking background. As one of the seed members of the Bangalore site, you will build new backend connectivity services that power millions of VMs running on Databricks, and lead the design and development of new services that power connectivity between the control plane and compute plane. This enables Databricks to increase scalability of the compute plane while using cloud resources efficiently. You will work closely with product management, operations and other engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable and efficient networking systems. A hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys novel multi-cloud and distributed systems challenges.

What we look for

• 8+ years of production level experience in one of: Python, Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language
• 4+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch
• Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
